Terrace Mountain is a custom residence designed by the internationally acclaimed local architect Dick Clark. Over the past six months, Dick Clark Architecture's team was able to design a home that perfectly met the visions and dreams of our client. Every aspect of the design process focused on achieving a balance of three specific goals; livability, aesthetic beauty, and the utilization of innovative methods to maximize energy efficiency.

This residence will be nestled on a bluff in Westlake Hills that orients directly towards the downtown Austin skyline. Below the building site lies a canyon that provides a light breeze year round, which is ideal during hot summer months. Amazingly, this is one of the few remaining sites in the area that has been untouched.

Terrace Mountain was designed around the lifestyle of a client for which we have built two previous residences. The first home was built in the early 1980s when they were just beginning to build their family. Years later, a second home was designed and built to accommodate their growing family and need for more space. Since then, the children have moved out and the clients' needs have again shifted back towards that of a smaller more practical home. While smaller, this home will still be able accommodate family and other guests while visiting. Also, the common areas will be able to accommodate large numbers of guests for entertainment.

Construction began in February 2009 and during the construction process we will periodically update this site with photos.
